Open the extension. Click Choose images, or drag a file into the panel.

Pick JPG, PNG or WebP. Then click Convert 1 image.

Wait for the progress
Leave the panel open. The progress card tells you what is happening and how far it got.

Click the arrow after Complete
Only after the row says Complete, click the blue ↓ arrow. The file goes to Chrome Downloads.
WHERE IS THE FILE?
Chrome Downloads
The converted image is saved to Chrome's usual Downloads folder. To change that folder, open Chrome Settings → Downloads. The extension does not upload your image.
HEIC
HEIC works locally
You can add a HEIC/HEIF photo and convert it locally. The result is static. Animated images are not preserved as animation.
