Set up Image Converter.
One step at a time.

Pin the extension → add a file → choose a format → wait for Complete → click ↓.

Keep Image Converter one click away

Open Chrome's Extensions menu, find JPG Image Converter and select the pin icon. Then open it whenever you need the side panel.

Add your image

Open the extension. Click Choose images, or drag a file into the panel.

Choose the format

Wait for the progress

Leave the panel open. The progress card tells you what is happening and how far it got.

Click the arrow after Complete

Only after the row says Complete, click the blue ↓ arrow. The file goes to Chrome Downloads.

The extension shows Complete and the converted file size

WHERE IS THE FILE?

Chrome Downloads

The converted image is saved to Chrome's usual Downloads folder. To change that folder, open Chrome Settings → Downloads. The extension does not upload your image.

HEIC

HEIC works locally

You can add a HEIC/HEIF photo and convert it locally when the browser and device provide a compatible decoder.
