Teleprompter Privacy Policy
Scope
This policy applies to the current Teleprompter app for Android, published by Sapiest Dev. Teleprompter lets you write or import scripts, read a prompt while recording video, review takes and export copies on your device.
This version has no account, advertising, analytics, purchase or cloud-upload feature. It has no Android Internet permission. Voice mode can use the system speech provider, which may process microphone audio on its servers under its own privacy policy. Sapiest Dev does not automatically receive your scripts, recordings, thumbnails or other app-private content.
Content and settings on your device
Scripts, prompt and camera preferences, recordings, thumbnails and editing information are processed and stored locally. The app uses Android app-private storage for its private files and settings. Recording, microphone checks and export work can create temporary files and recovery information used to complete or safely clean up work.
The app disables Android app backup in its configuration. You remain responsible for any copies you choose to export or share.
Permissions and device features
- Camera: enables the camera preview and video recording.
- Microphone: enables audio recording, microphone checks and the Sound and Voice reading modes. Audio settings allow the app to request the recording input you select when Android supports it.
- Bluetooth: identifies connected audio accessories for microphone choices and recording feedback.
- Notifications and foreground services: show ongoing export work and the user-started floating prompter. They do not authorize background camera recording.
- Display over other apps: lets you show a movable, resizable script over another app after you grant Android special overlay access. The floating prompter uses Auto scrolling and does not access the camera or microphone. Its ongoing notification and on-screen controls let you pause, resume or close it. Closing it, revoking overlay access or removing the app task stops its service.
- Android file and document pickers: let you choose scripts to import and destinations for files. Access depends on your selections and Android permission controls.
You can review and change app permissions in Android Settings. Features that need a permission may be unavailable when that permission is denied.
Voice reading mode
Voice first tries on-device recognition. If the selected language is unavailable locally, the system speech provider may send microphone audio to its servers. The app explains this before Voice starts. Voice runs only during an explicit, visible reading or recording session. Recognized words are used in memory to follow the script; Teleprompter does not save transcripts or upload scripts and recordings. Recognition availability depends on the device, language and speech provider.
Sharing, Gallery and support
Export and Share run when you choose them. Gallery, document providers and receiving apps handle the copies you give them under their own policies. Those apps or providers may use a network connection. Teleprompter does not upload a copy to Sapiest Dev as part of this workflow.
Contacting support opens your chosen email app. Teleprompter does not send a message automatically. If you send an email, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you intentionally include. We use this information to answer your request. Please send only the information needed to explain the issue; do not attach sensitive scripts or recordings unless necessary and intentionally chosen.
Retention and deletion
App-private scripts, preferences and recordings remain on your device until you delete them, clear app storage or uninstall the app. Temporary recording and export files may remain while work is being recovered or cleaned up.
Deleting app-private content does not remove copies already exported to Gallery, document storage or another app. Manage those copies in their destination. We cannot remotely access or delete Teleprompter's app-private files on your device.
Support correspondence is kept only as needed to answer and follow up on your request, resolve disputes or meet applicable legal obligations. You can contact us to request deletion of support information we can identify.
Security and your choices
Android's app-private storage and permission controls limit access to private app data. Exported and shared copies are governed by the destination's access controls. Protect your device and review the content and receiving app before sharing a file.
This policy website
This page is delivered through Firebase Hosting. The hosting provider may process IP addresses and technical request information to deliver the page, maintain reliability and prevent abuse. This standalone page contains no analytics or advertising scripts, cookies or web forms. Visiting other websites or contacting us by email is subject to the services you choose.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app's behavior, providers or privacy requirements change. The effective date above identifies this version.
